Clumber Road Abundance project

The Abundance season is about to start again.
Clumber Road Stores on Clumber Road is now starting to get the new season herbs and vegetables from local gardens.

Today the first herbs: chives, mint, sage, and marjoram arrived.
Also: Rhurbarb and Spinach beet.

The food in the Abundance section is free, but if you are happy to leave a donation towards seeds and equipment, that would be very much appreciated.

Yesterday a made a simple but delicious soup with the spinach beet.
Handful of leaves (wash and take out the middle stalk), fry one onion and a garlic clove, add the leaves and a peeled potato. Then I added 1 pt of vegetable stock, brought to the boil and then simmered for 20 minutes. Added some milk and liquidized it. At the end I added some pieces of blue cheese (that I had left over in the fridge) Delicious!

Apart from local beers like from the Magpie Brewery and wines, this shop has an excellent range of groceries.

This shop is now also the redistribution point for the Abundance Fruit. If you have any excess fruit from you gardens or allotments or you would like us to come and pick and re distribute contact us via:

the produce won't be sold, it will be given away. If you would like to make a donation that would be very much appreciated so we can buy equipment like fruit pickers and ladders.

The fruit has been harvested by members of the public from local gardens or allotments and any excess (non bruised and in good condition) can be taken to Clumber Road off licence where others can come and help themselves. The produce is free but if you take a lot, a donation would be appreciated. It would also be a good way to see if there is anything else in the shop that might be of use to you!


Please note that ONLY the food marked 'abundance West Bridgford' is part of this set up NOT any other fruit and vegetables that Bipin might have in his shop at the time.

As it was a donation, they will be in the Clumber Road off-licence in the Abundance area.
The abundance food is free but if you want to give a donation towards pickers, ladders, abundance publicity etc, leave it in the honesty box. Whilst you are in the shop, have a good look around and you can give Amit and Nemisha  your custom.
